Oh Rebecca, for some reason Turtles touch something deep inside me....can't explain it. Living in the country, I will be driving and see a turtle cross the road and my day completely stops and I am going to take what it takes to get it safely across the road to it's destination. For years, I lived in an old schoolhouse on a long concession road. We were the only home on the concession and lived smack dab in the middle of a marsh and outdoor menagerie. I used to love watching the blue herons land on the pine tree tops and sway in the wind. Meeting my daughters new love interest one day, it was mentioned he moved a turtle off the busy roadway while everyone watched. My daughter's face lit up telling me the story and I knew he was going to be around for a while.....For years I would carry a hockey stick in the trunk so I could guide the snapping turtles across the road. Of course it is pretty natural up in Northern Ontario to carry a hockey stick in winter but not in summer!!!! All the best to you and your family G
