Jack

My grandson, Jack Whalen Jenkins arrived at 9:46 Pm on Dec 29.

It was the fastest birth I have ever seen!

I think my daughter Belin is just made for having babies…
I have had 5 babies myself and they seemed to take their sweet time!

Her and I were walking all over that hospital and she was running and cavorting ahead of me (we were trying to help the labor) Belin did not appear to be having any pains at all. When we got back to the room, she was already 4 centimeters dilated.

That was at 7:15- Jack was born at 9:46. Dec 29, 2008.

Mom, baby, dad and little sister Bella are all fine.

It was the cutest thing you ever saw…

When 2 year old Bella was introduced to her baby brother and saw him breastfeeding, she pulled her dress off (quick as lightening) and wanted to offer her breast too…isn’t that sweet?
No sibling rivalry here.

    Congratulations one and all!

    What a beautiful baby.

When our second child was born, our eldest son, who was three at the time walked in just as the cord was being cut (she was born at home), and said “What a mess!” Then, a couple of hours later he wanted to “take it back!’

Now, Hamish is the eldest of 6 children, and is adoring his baby sister, who is 19 months!

Enjoy this time with a new born babe – they’re so precious!

Happy New Year, and much love

    Kate

    Dearest Rebecca,
When my first grandson was born, my mom (which this birth made her a great-grandmother) gave me a poster that said: “If I had known grandchildren were so much fun, I would have had them first”! (It did not specify the author of that quote.) But, I found it SO appropriate! What unconditional Love they share with us! And isn’t Jack a precious cutie!!!

My congratulations to all and sending love and blessings.

Congratulations to you and Belin and your family! I’m so glad the birth went well and quickly too. I knew that low fluid business didn’t have to be a problem. :) Welcome, Jack! You’re a handsome boy, and obviously quite brilliant to have picked the mommy and grandma that you did. And aren’t you lucky to have such a helpful big sister?! Snuggles to Bella, and best wishes for your “babymoon” as you all get to know little Jack.
